Food & Wine Star Unveils Health-Focused Mexican Eatery on Capitol Hill

Get ready for a taste of Mexico unlike any other! Acclaimed chef Isabel Coss, recognized as a "Best New Chef" by Food & Wine, is launching her own restaurant, Lutece, in the heart of Capitol Hill.

Opening its doors on February 15th, Lutece promises a unique dining experience focused on fresh, vibrant, and health-conscious Mexican cuisine. This isn't your typical Tex-Mex fare. Think citrusy ceviches, succulent taco al pastor, and innovative parsnip tamales, prepared with the magic of a wood-fired hearth. For meat lovers, delectable chicken, lamb, and fish dishes round out the menu.

Coss, along with her husband Matt Conroy, brings this culinary haven to life in partnership with the Popal Group, known for their renowned restaurants like Lapis and Lapop. Their dedication to quality shines through, earning Lutece early praise from industry giants. Bon Appetit named it a "must-visit" winter destination, while World's 50 Best recognized it as one of the hottest global restaurant openings of 2024, the sole U.S. entrant on the prestigious list.

Initially, Lutece will tantalize taste buds with dinner service only, Thursday through Monday from 5 pm to 9 pm. Nestled at the corner of 8th Street and Maryland Avenue NE, where Kenny's BBQ previously resided, it's poised to become a neighborhood gem.

So, ditch the taco stereotypes and prepare for an authentic Mexican adventure. Mark your calendars for February 15th and embark on a culinary journey with Isabel Coss at Lutece!
