Mount Pleasant welcomes a new Italian eatery with a focus on fresh, seasonal ingredients and a welcoming atmosphere. Bar Del Monte, opening Friday, March 8th, is the latest venture from the team behind beloved Neapolitan pizzeria 2Amys.
Simple, Seasonal Italian Fare
While Bar Del Monte offers a few pizzas, the heart of the menu lies in simple Italian dishes. Expect antipasti like fried treats, salads, and anchovy-centric options, alongside sausages and more. "[It's] supposed to be simple, neighborhood-y, low-key, friendly," says owner Peter Pastan.
Leading the kitchen is Oliver Pastan, Peter's son, who boasts experience at renowned restaurants like Roscioli in Rome. Joining him are culinary talents Alex Vedadi (formerly of I Sodi in New York) and Tyson Barrett (Pizzeria Beddia, Philadelphia).

The 38-seat dining room features a light and airy atmosphere with exposed brick, polished concrete floors, and plenty of windows. The space boasts sophisticated soundproofing for a comfortable dining experience.

The restaurant boasts a dedicated back garden where they cultivate herbs, strawberries, and other fresh ingredients for their dishes.
