Starting today, March 15th, a limited supply of commemorative SmarTrip cards featuring the dazzling cherry blossoms will be available for purchase at select stations:

  • Metro Center
  • Navy Yard
  • L'Enfant Plaza
  • Smithsonian Station

Early Start for Cherry Blossom Runners

Attention runners! WMATA is starting rail service two hours early on Sunday, March 17th, to accommodate the 51st Credit Union Cherry Blossom 10 Mile Run. Regular service begins at 5:00 AM, with the race kicking off at 7:30 AM.

Smooth Sailing for Cherry Blossom Sightseers

For a seamless cherry blossom viewing experience, WMATA will be suspending all scheduled track maintenance for five weeks starting March 18th. Enjoy uninterrupted rides until 10:00 PM each night, making it easier to get around the city and admire the beautiful blooms.
