Gear up for spring and celebrate D.C.'s iconic cherry blossoms with a thrilling race! The Credit Union Cherry Blossom Run offers a variety of options for runners of all levels, from a scenic 5K to a challenging 10-miler.

Here's your guide to participating in the Cherry Blossom Run:

What Races are Offered?

  • 5K Run: Enjoy a scenic route past iconic landmarks and receive a commemorative t-shirt, refreshments, and race results.
  • 10-Mile Run: Challenge yourself with a longer course and compete in waves for a fair race experience. Earn awards based on net time.
  • Double Blossom: Conquer both the 5K and 10-mile races for double the fun and an exclusive finisher medal.
  • Kids Run: Let your little ones join the fun with a safe and exciting race designed for ages 4-10.
  • Virtual Run: Participate from anywhere in the world during the National Cherry Blossom Festival.

Registration and Important Dates:

  • 5K: First-come, first-served registration (typically opens in December).
  • 10-Mile & Double Blossom: Lottery system (application period typically closes in November).
  • Kids Run: Register online by April 5th or in-person on April 5th (subject to availability).
  • Virtual Run: Register anytime during the National Cherry Blossom Festival (March 20th - April 14th).
  • Packet Pickup: National Building Museum's Health & Fitness Expo on April 5th from 3 PM to 7 PM.

Race Details and Amenities:

  • All races receive a commemorative race t-shirt and finisher medals (except Virtual Run).
  • The 5K and 10-mile courses wind through scenic locations, including Freedom Plaza, Pennsylvania Avenue, and the National Mall.
  • The Kids Run offers a safe and fun environment for young runners.
  • Virtual runners receive a special race t-shirt and medal shipped after the event.
