Chef Michael Rafidi's Yellow Expands to Union Market with Pastries, Kebabs, and More!

Levantine favorite Yellow is opening a new, full-service location at Union Market on July 9th! Chef Michael Rafidi's brainchild has exploded in popularity since its pop-up beginnings at Albi, becoming a beloved destination for pastries, mezze, and wood-fired pitas.

What to Expect at Yellow Union Market:

  • Even More Yellow Goodness: Expect all your favorite Yellow treats, from za'atar-labne croissants and "urfa-thing" bagels to hummus and wood-fired pita sandwiches.
  • Union Market Exclusives: Get ready for unique creations like twice-baked ras el hanout/pecan croissants and refreshing Jaffa orange iced coffee.
  • Nighttime Kebabs! Coming later this summer, Yellow Union Market will transform into a kebab haven at 5 pm, serving a menu called "All the Kebabs." Think charcoal-grilled skewers like leg of lamb with dill-yogurt marinade and grape leaf swordfish.
  • Coffee Bar by Day, Wine Bar by Night: The versatile space will feature a coffee bar in the daytime, transitioning to a natural wine bar in the evening. Expect Middle Eastern wines and beers alongside Levantine-inspired cocktails.
  • Beautiful Design: The new location boasts 3,500 square feet with high ceilings, an open kitchen, a pastry case, a communal table, and an outdoor patio. Moroccan tilework and pastel blue accents create a stylish ambiance.

A Collaborative Effort:

While Chef Rafidi's Palestinian American background shines through the menu, Yellow is a true team effort. Pastry chef Alicia Wang, coffee director Ayat Elhag, and others all play key roles. The space will also feature collaborations with high-profile chefs like Danny Lee of Anju and Chiko.

Yellow Union Market Hours:

  • Tuesday-Sunday: 8 AM to 3 PM (kebab service starts later this summer)

Don't miss the chance to experience Yellow's culinary magic at their new Union Market location!
